1st Griffon Commandos - WIP

Here are some Pics of my new veteran squad I'm working on. They will be known as the 1st Griffon Commandos or something else the name is still in the works. They will consist of Harker and other veterans. Their background will consist of them being veterans and survivors of Medusa 5 but more on that later. I'm using some scout marine bits for the upgrades on the models. The scout box is GREAT :) for bits to make Guard veterans stand out from the other guard models. I'm also using Tau Fire warrior bits for some of their weaponry. More details on them when I'm done painting them so I can show them better in detail. Have a great Memorial Day weekend.

Tango Down

Sunday was a great day for many around the world when hearing the news of Bin Laden getting aced. Not everyone thinks this way though and in my opinion should rethink their position. Imagine the years and trials that he would have gone through if he was captured. The mess this would cause and the money no one has that would be spent for all this to occur. I guess it was cheaper this way. For those that want to argue about the outcome don't come to me because I wasn't one of the operators in that room when everything went down. When you do find them let me know so I can congratulate them with a job well done.
In celebration of this event I am going to create my own Seal team 6 type team in 40k. I will be using the veterans team and be naming them 1st Griffon Commandos. Leading the team will be a character using the Gunny Harker Rules because a friend of mine despised the gunny during a friendly match against his forces, even though he won. For the conversion idea I will be using Tau, Space Marine Scouts, and of course Imperial Guard bits. More news later since I am busy with my college finals these next few weeks. until next time, stay safe:)

To Be or Not.........

I was looking through the rumors through out the web about what's to come for grey knights and am a little disappointed. Not because of the strength and powers but the fluff that they are being surrounded with or lack their of. The Grey Knights seem to be heading; in my point of view; the way of the Tau. The Tau went from hippies to commies. The Grey Knights seem to be going from mutual deamonhunting allies to deamonhunting backstabbers. i come with this conclussion with the Apocalypse Grey Knight Strike force pdf available on the GW site. It also seems to me that the puritan/radical fluff maybe eradicated but who knows till April.

Anyways I've been working on some terrain pieces for my table. I'm also looking through my Grey Knights and Sisters of Battle and deciding how to play list them. I'm also working on conversion ideas with my Veterans. Hopefully I'll get pics on all of these projects up soon.

Valkyrie Attack

I seen this video with my son when he was browsing you tube on my wifes phone for Star Wars videos. It quickly came to mind the way that veterans would come swooping in with a valkyire/Vendetta and shoot up everything and toss demolitions everywhere :)

Veterans

Last Wednesday I invited my 2 brothers and sisters' fiance over to my place and had a hobby/paint party before the big 40K Apocolypse game this Saturday at the LA Battle Bunker. I was able to finish up a Col. Schaeffer model as a veteran sargeant and use a few some shotguns from the scout space marine sprue for my veterans. Their are also pics of two of the necromunda models that I painted for another veteran squad on my roster.
I first had my doubts about using the shotguns for my veterans but the bits fit very nicely on the models and I highly recommend to others if they think of doing the conversion to go for it. They are roughly the same cost as the shotguns available from forge world but you just have to way your options as what extras you want and when you want them. You get 4 shotguns, a heavy bolter, 5 bolt pistols, c.c. wpns arms, and various little tid bits for the scouts from the scout box. You get 5 shotguns, various guard heads upgrades, 5 packs and a few tid bits for IG models. IMHO i'd get the scout box because its readily available at any hobby shop plus the other things they come with.
