If anyone is reading this. The 171st Howling Thunder have came out of the warp. The mission tasked to reinforce Cadia can no longer be accomplish as we are in awe that Cadia no longer appears on our star maps. We await further orders from high command and reassess our forces. We will stand-bye and answer calls for distress from near-by sectors.

Hello Everyone. I have come out of the warp finally and getting back into things with my guard army. It's been awhile for me as I am catching up to the newest lore since 5/6th edition. It has been a loooooong break. I returned reading the lore early September this year and began gaming again with family and friends. I was tired of having my models just laying around in boxes. It's been fun since getting back into the swing of things. I forgot how fun it is to model and play but life was more important to me than the hobby after 6th edition. Now that life has me back and the lore has been incredible these last few months, I'm back. Please stick around as I will be posting more conversions I made for my guard. If your wondering what edition I am playing, it's 5th edition. More on that later. Stick around for more. It's good to be back.

Harakoni Warhawks

I was contemplating on changing my stormtroopers color scheme for awhile now because I wanted my stormtroopers to stand out away from my veterans. My veterans use the same models and grey/ black color scheme as the stormtroopers. When I first started with my IG in 3rd edition, I painted my guard to the Harakoni color scheme mentioned in the the 3.5th ed. codex. This last month I found an old printed color copy of the Madusa V campaign book, that was free from GW in a PDF form at that time, and decided to read the copy completely this week. I noticed an old drop troop strike the Warhawks conducted against the TAU and recalled that I was part of that attack during the MADUSA V Campaign.
So I decided to repaint my storm troopers to their original color scheme I ounce had them. Pictured above are my three veteran Sergeants. I am very happy with the change I made and hopefully they will see action on the table-top here again with their old color scheme.

Out of Sync

After my last post I was still expecting a game from my buddy but to no avail. and because of the holidays a hobby kink struck me. I was no longer interested in playing my favorite hobby or anyhing else. I picked up a copy of Sandy Mitchells' Ciaphus Cain novel "Hero of The Imperium" and began reading through it. It's the first time I read any of his novels and can say that these novels are a must read (which I will review later with his newest novel). Right now the novel is inspiring me to play 40k but right I'm also got hooked with Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which I got with a new PS3 for Christmas :) I'm also looking into getting Black Ops later on since it's all the rage right now with my family, but anyway... I'm looking into creating my own Commissar inspired by Ciaphus Cain and using Yarricks stats from the IG codex to do so. I also was able to finish painting 2 of my girls (from the previous post), 8 catachin/cadain mixed models for a vet sqd., 2 Leman Russ Battle Tanks, and 20 kasrkin stormtroopers (which I'm rethinking of painting 10 to a Harakoni color scheme now since reading the omnibus). Now writing this out I think I just burnt myself out because of the painting because it took me two weeks to do this for a tournament/game that never occured but anyway... I'm back and ready to start the hobby anew :)
